Children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as their parents, face a number of challenges throughout the developmental process. Many of these stressors are normative and managable. However, at times, difficulties exceed what can be handled through the individual, family, and community supports available. In these situations, psychological or neuropsychological evaluations are useful in determining the underlying causes of difficulty and in developing plans for intervention. A full range of evaluation services, in addition to psychotherapy and parent and teacher consultation, is offered through Dr. Avey's practice.
